As an IT or project professional you’ll communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments daily, which means adjusting your language to suit your audience – which enables you to explain both your findings and solutions while understanding the viewpoints of others.
Organisation and planning
Anyone working in a corporate environment will know the mantra, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” How you manage your time and prioritise your tasks will determine your success in any role during your career.

How much training will I need to do and how long will it take?
Information Technology (IT)
If you’re comfortable with computers and have a natural curiosity to ask questions (and seek answers), then a fresh start in tech should be a serious consideration.
If you’re starting your tech career from scratch (which many Learning People students are), your first step will be the CompTIA A+ certification, which is the industry standard for launching a career in IT – and takes 120 hours to complete.
This certification also acts as the launchpad for Cyber, Networking, and Cloud – where certifications take a lot less time to complete. For example, the Network+ is a mere 40 hours, Security+ 40 hours, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate also just 40 hours.
How many IT and tech jobs are there?
Asia Pacific countries are in desperate need of more cybersecurity where there is a 0% unemployment rate.
According to Amazon Web Services, demand for cloud skills in APAC is expected to triple by 2025.
And with entry level salaries for these disciplines being $90-$100,000, it’s no surprise that people are embracing a new and secure future with IT.
