2022 Student Success Update | Monday October 03

Welcome to the Learning People Student Success update for the week commencing 03 October 2022 – our regular weekly round-up previewing a selection of up-to-the-minute successes, including exams sat, certifications gained, interviews attended, and new positions attained.

Project Management

Yousra has been offered a place within the Ministry of Defence as a Finance PMO Executive Officer. Yousra passed her PRINCE2 Foundation in February and got to work straight away with improving her CV and LinkedIn. Now after 20 years as a manager in various retail stores, she is beyond happy with her new role with the MoD.

Marius has very happily started a 1 month Work Placement with Brainnest as a Project Management Intern, where he will be brought onto various client projects to begin helping with logging project activities. He looks forward to using this experience as a way to find a permanent job placement with one of their clients.

Stephen just got a promotion from Desktop Support Engineer to Desktop Support Manager at Westin General Hospital leading the enormous project of re-domaining all PC systems so they can integrate with Bristol Royal Infirmary. His PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner certifications definitely got him the promotion and this project is likely to leverage his ability to gain further big Project Management roles in future.

IT and Cyber Security

It’s never too late to Make the Change… Alice is currently studying her CompTIA Security+ and has just secured an IT Support role at Healthcare Computing. She only applied for 5 jobs and this was the first company she interviewed with. They were really impressed with her troubleshooting skills and she correctly answered questions that other candidates got incorrect.

Code

Sam has just secured a role as an Engineer at Qualitest. He was a Junior Software Engineer for the past year and with his full stack diploma, devops, cloud experience and passion for cyber security, his CV was snapped up by multiple recruiters and he didn’t need to apply for any jobs this time around. Qualitest love his background and have purposefully called him an Engineer so that he can carve out his specialism in future as there are so many different options open to him. His salary has jumped from £25K to £35K and they offer great training and mentoring and he can work remotely which will really help with looking after his daughter

Dan is on his 4th milestone project and has secured some work experience with a company local to him called Carbon Code – a great way to get some hands-on experience which may well turn into a job offer further down the road.

A huge congratulations to all of our students on their well-deserved success and progression – from all of us at Learning People.
