2022 Student Success Update | Monday October 10

Welcome to the Learning People Student Success update for the week commencing 10 October 2022 – our regular weekly round-up previewing a selection of up-to-the-minute successes, including exams sat, certifications gained, interviews attended, and new positions attained.

Project Management

After being a Business Expert and Marketing Specialist at Apple for just under a year, David has now moved into Sage as a Web Delivery Project Manager which is a fantastic achievement after accomplishing his PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner.

Natasha has successfully been offered a job as a Project Manager with National Highways, which she will start in the new year. This is an amazing achievement for Natasha, as she has been with her current company, EDF Energy for over 10 years and was very apprehensive and nervous when first starting her interview preparation sessions together. This is where she had the most room for growth, and it certainly enabled her to have skills to impress the team on her 2nd interview.

Grace has career changed from recruitment to a Junior Project Manager role with Civica Electron Services.

Soibifaa has accepted the role of Senior Project Manager for the NHS – Wales Cancer Network. She was already working for the NHS but her contract had come to an end and she wanted to apply for a more senior role, so Marisha helped her with her CV and interview prep.

Simon starts his role as Legal Project Manager for Norton Rose Fulbright.

Johnson has started as an Assistant Project Manager with ASPA, a company set up by previous colleagues from his university degree where he is helping them in their company’s initiation stages of growth.

IT and Cyber Security

Anthony has just accepted the role of 1st Line Support Engineer at RazorBlue. He is a recent graduate with experience working at Dominos Pizza and has just completed his CCNA. This was the first interview he secured and he worked really hard to prepare for both rounds. There are lots of opportunities to build his career in his new role.

Upon completion of his certs, Seán spent 9 months in an IT Technician role with Levett Consultancy before moving into a First Line Support Engineer role with Systems IT Support & Consultancy.

Barney changed his career from Musician to Junior PenTester for Provitis, and a year later moved to Cyberis as Infosec Consultant/Pen Tester with a salary increase of 10K. Although the raise is a bonus, he didn’t move for the money – they are a brilliant business and he is going to be finishing his CREST exams and aim to become a CHECK Teamleader (CTL).

Matthew is career changing from being a Credit Controller and has now accepted an offer of Trainee IT Support Engineer with Acora. The opportunity was sought through networking, where Matthew reached out to a recruiter friend, who put him in touch with an IT Hiring Manager who interviewed and offered him a job when did they not even have any open roles.

Terry has been offered the role of Risk Officer for Allianz Technology.

Code

Ben has just accepted an offer as Business Solutions Junior Developer with Betfred. He has been studying for his Diploma for over a year and has been working in Customer Service for over 3 years. He is very excited to be joining his new company.

Osomasi has gone from Assistant Teaching Assistant to Operations Executive and Data Analyst with Addo Play after doing his Front-End Development course with a passion for Data Analytics.

Steve received an offer from the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) for a Junior Software Developer 3 months after interviewing with them. He had taken up the role of an SDET with Perch Group 2 months ago but found the role is very limited. He will work with a more modern tech stack, receive a salary increase to 36k, flexible and remote working options and a 27.1% Pension.
