2023 Student Success Update | Monday May 22
Welcome to the Learning People Student Success update for the week commencing 22 May 2023 – our regular weekly round-up previewing a selection of up-to-the-minute successes, including exams sat, certifications gained, interviews attended, and new positions attained.
Project management
Munir has made the move from Project Officer at National Energy Foundation to the NHS as a Junior IT Project Manager and is currently studying his PRINCE2® Practitioner.
Malcolm has now been offered the position of International Conversion Officer with the University of Bristol, where he has had an increase in his salary, and been offered a 4-day work week. One of his new responsibilities will be to supervise the assistant within the team. His role includes encouraging students to move to UoB, while incorporating more project management knowledge and methodology into the programme.
Jennifer has put her skills to good use as an Employability Coach and career changed to Project Manager for EW Group. She is also currently working towards her PRINCE2® Practitioner.
Jordan was about to take a 3-week break to do a sailing job when the boat he was due to work on crashed! So has instead secured a mini project as a Freelance Project Manager for Another World Adventure and is busy interviewing with 3 other companies, 2 of which are at the final stage.
Chike has secured a Project Manager role for Impreza IT and Chris who joined Frazer Nash in January as a Trainee Project Manager, has now been promoted to Research and Innovation Specialist on an education projects secondment where his knowledge and previous experience in the Education sector are core assets.
Chris has been promoted to Continuous Improvement Manager with his existing employer, Architectural and Metal Systems (AMS) in Cork. After being with them for 6 years as Maintenance Supervisor and having small-scale project management responsibilities. His employer approached him following the completion of his PRINCE2® Practitioner and he is now overseeing the process improvements for one of Ireland’s biggest lant Implementation projects.
IT
Michael has been offered a position as IT Operations Analyst with Computershare in Edinburgh. This is his first entry-level IT role after being a Music Teacher and School Manager for over 7 years.
