What was your professional and educational experience prior to studying Learning People?
In terms of education I had some GCSE’S from school. For the last 15 years I was a post woman.
What were your motivations to study and become certified in your respective area of expertise?
I needed a change as I had become stale and frustrated as I knew I could do more. As I have always been comfortable with computing it was the next logical step.
Since becoming certified have you found employment in the industry?
Yes, almost straight away upon completing the CompTIA A+ I had a new job within 3 months.
I am currently working for Specsavers, as a Service Desk Analyst.
What are the core areas where you felt Learning People added the most value to your experience?
The knowledge support and encouragement.
What are your aspirations for the future?
To keep progressing in the ever evolving world of IT. Additionally, with the help of Learning people I hope to soon complete CompTIA Network+.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of starting a course in IT?
I would highly recommend Learning People as I have found they give sound advice supported by a well oiled machine of staff like Kerri and Jackie of StudentCare. I would advise students talk to them first to ensure they get what is tailored to their needs and giving them every opportunity to succeed. I found CompTIA A+ covers so many bases and is great to have when you embark on an IT career.
What challenges have you faced and how did Learning People help you overcome them?
Firstly was finding the time to do the course work as I was doing this while in full time employment and a young family but thankfully have great support from my husband and family. Secondly I had to get my head round a whole new challenge and that would have been far more difficult than it was without the help of Kerri and Jackie. Even when I had completed the course I was still getting advice on my CV and interview techniques from both ladies. I am doing what I am today thanks to their 100% commitment to helping and advising me.

Amazing support in all aspects, I would recommend Learning people to anyone, if you’re looking to start a fresh or even just to build on what they already know Learning people have the knowledge to get you where you want to be.
